1. Definitions
- “Company” refers to North East Loft Conversions.
- “Client” refers to the individual or business who agrees to purchase services from the Company.
- “Services” means the design, planning, and construction of loft conversions or related works.
- “Agreement” means the contract between the Client and Company incorporating these T&Cs.
2. Scope of Work
- The Company shall perform services as set out in the agreed written quotation or project specification.
- Any variations or additional work requested must be confirmed in writing and may be subject to additional charges.
- Project timelines are estimates and may change due to weather, availability of materials, or unforeseen circumstances.
3. Quotations & Pricing
- All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- Prices include labour and materials unless stated otherwise.
- VAT will be applied where applicable.
4. Payments
- A deposit (typically 30%) is required to secure the booking and commence work.
- Further staged payments will be detailed in the quotation.
- Final payment is due upon completion of works, prior to final snagging.
5. Client Responsibilities
- Ensure access to the property during agreed working hours.
- Remove or protect any valuable items prior to commencement.
- Notify neighbours and relevant authorities where applicable.
6. Planning & Building Regulations
- The Company can assist with applications, but final responsibility for permissions and approvals rests with the Client unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Any fees for architects, structural engineers, or council applications are the Client’s responsibility unless included in the quote.
7. Delays & Interruptions
- The Company will not be liable for delays caused by factors outside its control including weather, third-party contractors, or supply shortages.
- Work may be paused if unsafe conditions arise.
8. Guarantees
- Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion.
- Manufacturer warranties apply to materials where applicable.
- This warranty does not cover wear and tear, misuse, or work altered by others.
9. Liability
- The Company is fully insured for public liability and employer liability.
- Liability for property damage is limited to the value of the services provided unless due to gross negligence.
10. Termination
- The Client may cancel the contract in writing with 14 days’ notice.
- Any completed work and committed costs will be invoiced accordingly.
- The Company may terminate if payments are not made or access is denied.
11. Complaints
- All complaints should be submitted in writing within 7 days of the issue arising.
- The Company will make reasonable efforts to resolve any dispute amicably.
12. Governing Law
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Any disputes shall be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
